TACH Race Calendar
For many years, TACH has hosted a popular series of off road races. Since 2017, this has evolved into two Summer 10k races and an Autumn half marathon. We would like to thank our sponsors Up & Running in Henleaze.
We also organise the Butcombe Trail Ultra in the Spring.
In 2019, TACH will organise the following races:
20th June 2019
Swan Inn, Rowberrow, BS25 1QL off the A38

18th July 2019
The Mason's Arms, 124 Park Rd, Stapleton, BS16 1DT.
About 10km of parkland and woodland. Lots of juicy little hills.

A new race, about 12.5 miles, starting in Keynsham and including a welcome revival of the Compton Dando route, complete with stream!
All races operate under Trail Running Association (TRA) rules with permits provided by the Association of Running Clubs. Prizes are awarded to: 1st, 2nd and 3rd (M&F) as well as first V40, V50, V60 and (if applicable) 70+ (both M&F). Spot prizes may also be given. M&F team prizes (teams of 4). Strictly no entries on the day.
NB. The use of headphones on the 10k and half marathon races is banned. Runners using headphones will be disqualified. This helps provide safety for all runners, in terms of hearing instructions from marshals, on road sections and being aware of the needs of fellow runners.
Butcombe Trail Ultra
Saturday 18th April 2020
A single day 50 or 56 mile ultramarathon held on the Butcombe trail in the Mendip Hills.
The BTU50 starting at 8.00am with a 15 hour cut-off . Worth 3 UTMB Points.
The BTU56 starting at 7.00am with a 16 hour cut-off . Worth 4 UTMB Points
The route is mostly off road and takes in some beautiful running country and fantastic views as it criss-crosses the Mendips. It was devised as a walking trail many years ago and 2020 will be the fifth year that it's being run as a single day ultramarathon.
The route is mainly self navigable but there will be marshals as key points, the trail is way marked along much of its length but this can be patchy.
All entrants must have run a marathon since the 1st January 2019, this doesn't need to have been in a formal race, it could have been a 26.2+ mile training run. You will not need to provide proof of this, we trust you to tell the truth.
There will be a minimum kit list that runners will need to carry throughout the race.
